Happy Whatever Day It Is!

I have no idea what day it is! Here is what I know...I have 2 liters of water so I can walk 10-12 miles before I need to find more. I have enough food for three days and then I need to resupply. I can tell by my own odor it's been quite a while since my last shower. My shoes are good for another 100 miles and then they will need to be replaced.

It's a bit of an adjustment for me, living without a watch, a calendar full of activities, and a detailed to-do list. When I think about work, it is the people I remember and pray for. When I think about home, it is my beautiful wife that comes to mind and I long to see again soon.

In spite of the simplicity of hiking, each day is full of excitement! Meeting new people, seeing familiar faces of PCT hikers, new things to see, and new challenges to overcome. It is such a blessing to have this time to pray, reflect, and listen to that still small voice while enjoying God's creation.
