Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt. William Shakespeare
The mountain passes with snow and ice present the most physically challenging and dangerous part of the hike so far. I have micro spikes and an ice axe to help avoid falling on steep snow. Navigation through miles of snow at high altitude, and the threat of afternoon thunder storms also keeps me alert and thinking ahead. Mountain passes shoud be climbed in the morning when the snow is firm and lightning is less likely.
The next 125 miles has 50,000 ft. of altitude change over seven mountain passes: Kersarge Pass, Glen Pass, Pinchot Pass, Mather Pass, Muir Pass, Selden Pass, and Silver Pass. I'll try to take some awesome pictures and video.
